Tasha’s story

Tasha has been a working carer for several decades having looked after her father and now her husband who has a genetic kidney disease and visual impairment. Her care responsibilities have been met with a lack of sufficient support and compassion from previous managers, resulting in her seeking out new employment.

“There have been discussions about my employer providing Carers Leave which would be helpful because at the moment I need to save my annual leave in case I need to help my husband. I can’t plan a holiday as things are at the moment, carers Leave would free up my annual leave to care for myself.”
